Granting Request

Hujannya kaga berhenti" ternyata dari tadi,, jarungannya jdi agk lola nih :( ..
Dingin'' gini enaknya bobo dah yg paling sipp... Tapi sya punya tugas yg harus diselesaikan yaitu ngeposting ni materi step by step ._.

Granting Request

Granting Request artinya kalo secara umum adalah cara kita memenuhi permintaan seseorang secara sopan.
Kalo versi bahasa Inggrisnya ini nih :

    Granting Request is to express a wish or ask for to grant a request in a polite or formal way often followed by an infinitive or by a clause beginning with that.

1. Expressing Granting Request 

     - Asking someone to do something :


    • Can you give me the book ?
    • Could you phone me at 7 o'clock ?
    • Would you mind repairing my watch ?
    • Do you think you could take me to the shop ?
    • I wonder if you could write me an application letter ?
     - Asking someone for something :
    • Can I borrow your pen ?
    • Could I have a seat ?
    • Can't I sit beside you ?
    • May I use your computer ?
      - The expression to accept it :
    • OK 
    • Sure 
    • Alright
    • Certainly
    • It's a pleasure
       - The expression to refuse it :
    • I'm afraid, I ... (give you reason).
    • I'm sorry. I can't.
    • I'd like to, but ... (give your reason).

2. Things to remember about making a request :

  • "Would you mind..." is followed by a gerund (verb+ing)
            Example:"Would you mind lending me your book? "

  • The response to the following request:

A: "Would you mind giving me your book? "
is either
  • "No, I don't mind."(which is a positive response to the request. It means that I accept to lend you my book)
  • or "Yes." (which is a negative response to the request. It means that I don't want to lend you my book.)
  • Could is more polite than can.

3. Example of dialogue:  

    You want your teacher to tell you a ghost story.
  •  Myself   : Good morning teacher.
  • Teacher : Good morning, students.
  • Myself    : How are you, teacher?
  • Teacher : I’m fine, thank you. And you?
  • Myself    : I’m fine.
  • Teacher : This is your story telling class. Could anybody please tell the class a story?
  • Myself    : Teacher, could you please tell us a story?
  • Teacher : What kind of story do you want to hear?
  • Myself    : Could you please tell us a ghost story?
  • Teacher : Okay.
